About Me

Welcome to "Girl who like to run and Tri" and it is about me Kirsten,  I started this blog a long time ago to talk about the beginnings of me becoming a runner.

Since then I have run thousands of miles; run 6 marathons (London twice), ran over 33 half marathons, 151 parkrun and scores of other races.  I have run down the Las Vegas Strip at night, over the Lisbon Bridge on a windy day, along with the beach of Santa Monica and around the iconic course of the Great North Run.

I have met lots of lovely people some in person and others across social media. Runners are a friendly bunch and always willing to offer advice, encouragement and a gentle nudge now and again.

I have become a running coach and take the club run of improvers and more most weeks, I also have helped a number of people train and run their 1st half and full marathons and have been very proud of there achievements.

I have started to branch out into the world of Triathlon, my biggest challenge is my swim, but I hear that that is the same for a lot of people.  Despite learning to swim at school, as soon as I wasn't been forced to swim the decision was made unless it was going to the swim up bar somewhere hot there would be very little swimming!!

Fast forward a number of years and a choice conversation with a friend, who advised that a pool based sprint triathlon was only 16 lengths of the pool...the rest, as they say, was history.
